The field work at Cashmoor is not quite completed yet contrary to rumours. Very shortly the contractor will treat the moss patches and roll the field.
The newly levelled section is starting to blend in with east and west parts of the field. So, hopefully by next year it will all look the same colour.
The surface of our flying field continues to be plagued by Molehills and Rabbit holes. These need to be treated to some TLC. i.e. levelled and filled as appropriate. We now have the means to do this.
So guys when you get bored with flying, or have a few spare moments, please spend some time doing what's necessary.
Just inside the door of the Clubhouse you will now find a Tamper/Rammer - this is a pole approx 5ft in length with a squarish lump of iron weight on its base. Also outside along side the Clubhouse's on the eastern side you will find some bags of topsoil.
Treatment as follows; for Molehills please flatten with Tamper/Rammer. For Rabbit holes please repair by filling with topsoil and then use Tamper/Rammer to firm up the repair.
The above remedies need to be applied to all of the field, but particularly to the areas used for take-off and landing - by this means we will hopefully reduce the incidences of broken/damaged undercarriages.
NB: If the supply of topsoil falls off then there's 'millions' more just over the fence in the farmers field! No! Only joking...
