The club caters for All types of powered aircraft but we don't support helicopters. only fixed wing. From large scale gasoline powered models, jets, aerobatic, electric and nitro powered models to small electric park flyers.
Our members between them have a vast collection of model aircraft of every size and description. Plus many many years of experience in construction and use, many built their own from scratch, there wasn't ARF's around much then. (ARF - Almost Ready to Fly)
Some of our members have competed at Competitions, Nationally and Internationally. They have a split second reactions and expert control over their models. The extreme flying powered by electric shown in the picture above, known as torque-hanging or prop-hanging requires a lot of skill but this can be achieved with lots of practice.

Another popular activity is the Tomboy Junior and Tomboy Senior class of model with wing span of around 3 feet. Using a small engine and limited fuel, approx 3cc's the model must sustain a flight over a period of time. Below is a photo of the regular competitors with their own league. This photo was taken at Salisbury Club in July 2010.

These models are extremely light but relatively strong and easy to repair. Risng air currents help to maintain flight plus the skill or luck of the pilots!
