WimborneMAC's legendary Training Scheme is back!

The Training Scheme
We are able to offer training facilities which are given by volunteer instructors, subject to their availability.
Under the control of the Training Coordinator, members with little or no experience can learn to fly on the Club's own aircraft and buddy-box radio control equipment until such time as they are able to pass the necessary proficiency test with their own model to allow them to fly unsupervised.

Uncling
Members are also permitted to fly with their own aircraft whilst they still hold a provisional (RED) membership card, provided they have an ‘Uncle’ (a fully qualified pilot) at their side when flying.

A basic example of what's needed when buying your own training aircraft.....

What you need to get up and started:

A .40 sized trainer Aircraft:

A 40/46 sized 2 stroke engine:

A minimum of a 4channel radio transmitter

A minimum of a 4ch receiver

4 standard servos

Extension/Ylead

Propeller

There is also ancillary equipment that would be needed : Fuel, glowstart, fuel pump, glow plug, on/off switch.
If a radio 'set' is purchased, then a charger, transmitter, receiver, servos and nicad will be included.

A good model shop will be able to guide you as to all the neccessary equipment you will need to get ready to fly.

Another piece of equipment to help learn to fly and pass your solo test sooner, is an RC Flight Simulator. There are many out there, but many in our club have had great success and find the Aerofly pro deluxe simulator to be a great representation of real life conditions. It's no replacement for actual stick time, but it does help with those vital skills.
