Constitution

1. The name of the club shall be the "Wimborne Model Aero Club".

2. The aim of the club will be to maintain and develop the hobby of building and flying model aeroplanes. Likewise the upkeep of the area laid down as a flying field for the use of the club.

3. The activities of the club shall be controlled by a committee, elected annually by ballot at the Annual General Meeting, which shall be held in November of each year. The committee shall meet at least nine times in every year.

4. The committee shall have the power to co-opt as additional members such persons as, in their opinion, are able to render a special service.

5. The duties of the committee shall be to devise methods of achieving the objects of the club and to exercise a general oversight of its activities and to assist in the development and extension of these activities.

6. The committee shall have the power; from time to time, to make, alter and rescind rules for the internal management of the club, and may delegate any of their powers to a committee consisting of such members of their body as they think fit. Any committee so formed shall, in the exercise of their powers, conform to any regulations that may be imposed on it by the ruling committee.

7. Nominations for election to the committee must be submitted in writing and countersigned by the person nominated, not less than seven days before the A.G.M.

8. The committee shall consist of seven members, including Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Fifty percent plus one member are required to constitute a quorum. The committee posts are:-

In the event of a committee member resigning an Emergency General Meeting will be held to elect a replacement member.

9. There may be a Sub-Committee headed by an officer elected by the club, to be responsible for the co-ordination of the following activities:-

In the event of an officer resigning, the position will be offered first to an existing member of the Sub Committee. Officers will serve for a period of one year. They may stand, if they so wish, for re-election..

10. Any matter not dealt with in the club rules shall be dealt with by the committee who will be responsible only to a general meeting of the club.

11. The committee will accept NO responsibility of liability from accident and Third Party claims resulting from the use of the flying site(s) or from the flying of model aircraft. Individuals will be responsible solely in these events and are required to be covered by Third Party insurance as stated in the club rules.

12. At the A.G.M. all members of the committee shall resign, except the Vice-Chairman, who will become the Chairman of the new committee.

13. The committee shall cause to keep accounts of all moneys belonging to the club and such accounts shall be audited and presented annually to the club. All moneys to be held at a committee approved financial Institution, in the clubs name. The committee shall deposit said moneys to the clubs best advantage. Withdrawals will only be made by the duly appointed Secretary, Treasurer or Chairman. Two signatures will be required.

14. Membership shall be open to any person genuinely interested in aeromodelling. The committee shall have the power to revoke membership of a person or persons who violate the constitution or do not uphold the club rules. The committee can restrict the club membership at any time. Club nights will be held at the Holt Parish Hall on the 2^nd Friday of each month at 8.00pm, however, some meetings during the summer months may be held at one of the flying sites. No meeting will take place if the 2^nd Friday of the month if it should fall on a Bank Holiday.

15. The clubs membership shall be from the first day of January to the 31^st of December. No reduction in subscriptions are given for new or existing members who join mid-year. A £10 joining fee is payable by new members at all times, and by existing members who have not paid their subscriptions by the last day of March.

16. Enrolment of new members for the forthcoming year commences from the A.G.M. New members who join in either November or December shall pay the forthcoming annual subscription, therefore obtaining a thirteen or fourteen month year. DEFINITION. A new member to the W.M.A.C. is defined as a person who was NOT on the previous years club membership register.

17. Membership renewals MUST be paid by the end of March. Any member who has not paid their fees by this date shall cease to be a member of the club, unless notification of special circumstances has been given to the committee, in writing, beforehand. NO member will be allowed to fly after the 31^st of December unless they have been issued their following years membership card.

18. There will be a club register showing members names, addresses, membership numbers & subscriptions which will be held by the Membership Secretary, and a general accounts book which will be held by the Treasurer.

19. The Annual General Meeting will be held in November each year. Not less than fourteen days notice of the meeting shall be given. Any member wishing to submit matters for discussion should do so in writing to the Club Secretary not less than seven days before the A.G.M., or may do so in person at the meeting.

20. A general meeting may be convened at any time by the committee and shall be done so by them on receipt of a requisition signed by twelve club members.

21. FLYING SITES. In the event of a club competition being held at any of the clubs flying sites, the committee has the authority to close the site to non competitors for the duration of the competition, providing that at least one months notice has been given either at a monthly club meeting or in the club Newsletter.

22. The above constitution shall only be altered by a resolution passed by a two thirds majority of the committee and of the members in a general meeting. Notice of proposed amendments to the constitution must be given in writing to the club Secretary not less than 21 days before the general meeting.
